Dreaming by Margaret Boles

I awoke
From an aided asleep
Aware
That I'd been dreaming
And my longing was
To close again my eyes
Re-enter the dark world
Discover

The conclusion of
A technicolour fantasy
I know I'd once
Lived through -
The heaviness that was with me still

Meant I could not
Recall hardly
A fraction of it
But I longed
To find out just how
That dream
Would have ended.

Margaret Boles has been writing poetry since 1996. Her poem Art Forms was printed in Trouvaille Review in May.
