A Small-Sized Memory by Harsimran Kaur

In a red-colored box

A picture of my beloved

Preserved like an ancient pharaoh

Young and beautiful

In a red-colored box

A letter from my beloved

Preserved like the book of kells

acrimonious, ambivalent

In a red-colored box

A finger of my beloved

Preserved like mulberry pickle

Red and wet
