Where Shall We by Lorraine Caputo

Every night I ask my dreams

to where we shall journey this eve

& Spiritual selves

gather around, hands grasping blue baggage, hands

grasping rails of a train …

We click-rattle into the dark, those Spirits

streaming around the large

limbs of ancient trees that

be gnarled, twisted

yet as breathtakingly beautiful

as fritillaries upon orchid

their wings fluttering perfumes

Poet-translator-travel writer Lorraine Caputo’s works appear in over 180 journals on six continents; and 12 chapbooks of poetry – including Caribbean Nights (Red Bird Chapbooks, 2014), Notes from the Patagonia (dancing girl press, 2017) and On Galápagos Shores (dancing girl press, 2019). Caputo has done over 200 literary readings, from Alaska to the Patagonia. She travels through Latin America, listening to the voices of the pueblos and Earth.
