the crunch by Jazmine Blu

it’s the way you say it

it doesn’t sound

like a delightful chip

it sounds like

two walls closing in on you

without escape

would you rather be

squeezed or do something

it doesn’t sound that good either

a boa constrictor squeezes

until it crunches

it’s the way you say it

it doesn’t sound

like a delightful chip

those chips you thought

were like a bowl of cherries

you can’t play at the casino

or cash in

whatever the job is

you have to do it

like you are

saving the world

you know

you are the only one

who can
