Nocturne by Maureen Adams

A million brilliant ideas

flicker overhead

just out of reach

some blaze brightly

before collapsing

never to be seen again

others gently fade

in and out

veiled by cosmic interference

the vast majority remain

ready receptive ripe

to be plucked

from the tableau

and savored

juicy and tart

on the tongue

with senses still

sharp enough

to know them fully
