Frozen June by Beth Mulcahy

does it feel like summer where you are?

if i had the strength to believe in something

i would believe in this

if i could make myself

vulnerable

i would

but it doesn’t feel like summer here

and i can’t make it

winter left a permanent mark

my faith buried in cynical snow

my heart bleeding ice
