what birds know by Melody Wang

vibrant streaks

of amorphous sky guide

soft-down feathers, eager

open beaks stretching toward

light: nebulous, shifting

water’s allure: divine, tumultuous

silently awaiting

sweet awakening

although the time

has not yet come

Melody Wang (she/her) currently resides in sunny Southern California with her dear husband. In her free time, she dabbles in piano composition and enjoys hiking, baking, and playing with her dogs.
