Venice by Petra F. Bagnardi

Lady of water, artwork of stones and spears.

She, survivor of wars and ages,

now drowning in tears of men.

Queen, delight, curiosity – see her,

as she takes one more brave breath.

Feel the world exhaling,

as she again arises –

a show of fiery wings.

She, the eternal phoenix.

Petra F. Bagnardi is a TV screenwriter, a theater playwright and actress, and a poet. She was short-listed in the Enfield Poets' Twentieth Anniversary Poetry Competition, and her work was featured in Masque & Spectacle Literary Journal and Punk Noir Magazine.
