Dreams by Ivan Peledov

Of course, people tend to forget
all the dreams about outer space
colonized by multihearted beasts.
Asteroids with palm trees and pines
make them sick. Flimsy spacecraft
never stops, never gives you a break.
There is no escape from inhabited suns.
Painted void penetrates the eyes
like persimmons, apples, and oranges.

Ivan Peledov lives in Colorado. His poems have been published in Artifact Nouveau, Illuminations, Sonic Boom, Eunoia Review, and other magazines. He is the author of the book Habits of Totems (Impspired, 2021). He can be found online on Twitter @habitsoftotems or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ivan.peledov.
