Turning Myself Over To the Sea by Lois Perch Villemaire

Floating on my back,

the current becomes a compass,

and guides my course,

My mind is calmed as the water

Surrounds and holds me,

Wrapped in the arms of the sea,

Feeling safe settles the surging

of my restless thoughts,

I pause in the wavy blues and greens,

Squinting into the sunlight above.
