TRIBUTE TO THE PEN by Egbebi Mariam Yetunde

White flight feathered quill with fluted nib,

Vertically stands bleeding in an idle hand,

Imbued with an nectarous orange ink,

Ready to dance in flowing rhymes.

Saviour of the nimble mind,

Inherited from the antiques.

Magic pen mightier than the Odinsword.

When it touches the paper; it touches the soul,

Leading the world of subjectivity in its spiral-like.

Envisioning with the breeze speaks.

Immensely drown my soul into evocationism.

Speaking the words knocked by some nerves in my head.

Scribbling verse creatively on the blank parchment.

Tool of escapism from the chaosmos.

What else could be so strong like my quill?

Relieving my cluster headache affected by griping pain.

Tranquilizing my broken hearts without crevice.

Holding my hand like a shell holding the body of a snail.

Paradise is birthed by the liquid of the inkhorn.

From thoughts to words,

Words to stanzas, chapters, paragraphs.

Savior of my heartless thought.

It scribbles the depth of my countless thought,

When no one seem to care.

It cries in the lines of broken pain,

When everyone seem blind to see my tears.

And ... It bleeds,

When I am been thrown into the river of creativity.
