Trapped by Olivia Arieti

The desert

Kept its promise

And assured

The timeless vision

Of camel trains

Processioning

Across the infinite.

Restless the wind

Mocked

Fatigue and desire,

And all landmarks

Were lost

While rabid vultures

Traced

Definite circles

Around our steps.
