time by Tane Kim

the minute hand of a clock

how threatening its presence

moving in a sweeping motion

disturbing the calm plains of the glass clock that it hovers silently over

like an unexpected thunderstorm

it marches steadily

towards carefree numbers who forgot of its existence

it erases the smiles from their face

replacing with desperation

when they realize that they can not escape from its wrath

Tane is a young creative writer who lives in the suburbs of New York who attends Irvington High School. His work can be seen in the Boston Literary Magazine, Beyond Words, The Flying Ketchup Press, and Dreich Magazine.
