Then and Now by Katrenia G. Busch

Glimpses and shadows that speak

From the corner of my eye do I see

Memories passing— growing antique

Yet— you seem to still follow me

Forgotten words from when I was young

Thoughts that appeared in my youth

Words issued from that youthful tongue

That now hold more meaning and truth

In the shadows of time you lurk

Following after the future me

With words you spoke that now work

As nothing less than prophecy

For now I’m reminded of you always

When the time has now finally arrived

Your old thoughts fulfilled and now conveyed

By the life that’s formed by words revived
