The Moon’s Sonata by Asya Acun

As the moon flickers in space and time,

All is calm, all is ready to roar

Maybe the storm is approaching, but I don’t mind

Right at this moment I experience a blissful night.

A reflection, pieces of my broken heart

The ocean gets stronger with the moon’s light

Clouds form in the abyss, they approach

On a boat with no soul, nor a life.

My rage and guilt

Is trapped within spirits.

They dance on top of my head

And make a swirl that swallows the universe

The ground beneath me disappears,

Leaving me with the echoes of her name.

A haunting voice from the distance,

Giulietta, Giulietta, Giulietta…

Is it your shadow I see, dancing with the moonlight?

What would happen if we both descended into the sea,

And danced forever on top of the moon and its stars?
