The Moon Beholds the Stars by John Tustin

The moon beholds the stars,

Shining pinpoints in a vast distance,

And smiles knowing that proximity

Makes her brightest

To us

At night.

Being closest

Is everything.

Distance dims the stars.

John Tustin’s poetry has appeared in many disparate literary journals in the last dozen years. fritzware.com/johntustinpoetry contains links to his published poetry online.
