Sequences by Rachel Nolan

His name is in the water turning

over and over. If you heard it today

it would be unrecognizable. Smoothed

round and round. His voice drowns.

At first you will feel like a disciple

and then the water’s surface will break.

You will plummet into the dark depths

and hear it again. You will.

Rachel Nolan holds a BA in poetry from Hampshire College, edits poetry manuscripts for Green Writers Press, and acts as managing editor for Millennial Pulp Literary Magazine.
