Planet Nine by Sarah Henry

A big thing spins

in space. A huge

object’s gravity

pulls on debris

beyond Neptune.

This seems exotic

and could be true.

The heavyweight

is rumored to be

the Planet Nine.

The body’s unseen

and hard to know

as a ghost. It lies

in the range of

some telescopes.

Maybe the planet

will be located

with further study.

Finding the new

world would be

a thrill, a cosmic

prize, won when

it spins into view.

Sarah Henry is retired from a newspaper. Her poems have appeared in over a hundred journals, most recently "Jalmurra," "Open Door Magazine," and "The Journal of Expressive Writing." She lives and writes in a small Pennsylvania town.
