Peeling Away Old Skin by Andrew Scott

The flakes of age are starting to show

on this weathered, old skin.

The scars that were once fresh

are now faded with character

and hold life’s adventures.

Time to take to changes

that are needed to continue

experiences that evolve

and change the mind set.

The burdens of yesteryear

need to be pulled away

to focus on life’s learning

and make room for growth.

Old skin must be peeled

away to not be afraid of new,

to take in freshness.

Maybe have new scars

and an appearance

through even with peeling

away the old skin,

I will still be the same.
