Pedantic by H. Russell Smith

I guess I'm anything but pedantic

Splitting hairs requires surgeon's skill

I'd much rather be labeled

A hapless, hopeless romantic

Bullheaded, strong in will.

Still my typing often suffers

A misplaced comma or three

Argumentative, disagreeable subjects

Torment verbs by the numbers

Of that, I'll never be free!

Despite my grumbling demeanor

Underneath lurks a heart of gold

I never mastered the English language

By now I'm far too old

For iambic pentameter

Oh, hell.  Who cares!

H. Russell Smith is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and lives near Joplin, MO. He works as an electrical engineer and loves Ham Radio and New Mexico chile peppers.
