Not Today by Luis Cuauhtémoc Berriozabal

Age comes creeping up.

I close my eyes, both

of them, as the snail’s

pace stops me cold. I

breathe in and out. I

feel so tired. I do

not take long steps, not

today or next week.

Born in Mexico, Luis lives in California and works in Los Angeles. His poetry and art has appeared in Medusa’s Kitchen, Nerve Cowboy, and Venus in Scorpio Ezine. His latest poetry book, Make the Water Laugh was published by Rouge Wolf Press.
