Mirage by Christina Pan

She was forever captivated

By the man on the mountain.

Every day, without fail,

He would lean against a large maple tree

Scribbling his thoughts into his tattered journal.

One day, she decided to join him

She too, leaning against the maple tree,

Conversing and laughing at his witty remarks.

Everyone was forever captivated

By the woman on the mountain

Seemingly staring at the empty space beside her,

Conversing and laughing at thin air.
