Mango moon by Yana Kane

Mmmm – mmmm!

Mango moon

Growing, ripening.

Soon, soon

it will rise sweet,

it will rise full,

heavy with juice,

ready to fall

into the waiting

mouth of the night.

Fill it with flowing

glowing delight.

Yana came to the United States as a refugee from the Soviet Union when she was a teenager. She has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Princeton University and a Ph. D. in Statistics from Cornell University. She works as a data scientist / engineer.
