Heaven's Rainbow by Peter Magliocco
An ocean riptide reveals
Heaven's rainbow
at Hermosa beach
pulled down from the sky
with variegated brilliance
it crashed its perfect arc
into the sea's dark grasp
illuminating green ripples
with a plethora of colors
until all the surfers there
gasped at the sudden fact
intruding with untoward
thievery of the overcast dawn
in heavenly brightness now
blinding their sun-glassed eyes
from a wave the sea painted.
