Fairy Light by Sophie Jupillat Posey

Green. Green, green, green.

Green mist and sunlight filtering through the trees,

A gossamer spiderweb settling in the meadow,

The grass wet and glimmering in recognition,

Of the fairy light dancing through it.

Fairy light, fairy light,

It shines softly in motes of gold and green,

Like a wedding veil, the nuptials of the

Worlds merging in the aftermath of the storm.

Green, green, green the fairies hide in its

Voluptuous mantle, shimmering as its threads

Unravel, in beads of light, of green-gold,

Dispersing through the meadow, brushing past the trees,

Flitting past the damp earth.

Fairy Light, fairy light, away it shimmers ,

Dispelling itself in a hush of green.

Soft green, tender green, otherworldy green,

Just plain green now, hidden shades closed away,

Door sealed, fairy light gone.
