Ephemera by Adrian David
What are we but a raindrop in the mighty ocean?
Brimming with hopes and dreams for the future.
What are we but a memory in the sands of time?
Wandering like nomads in search of adventure.
What are we but a passing cloud in the vast sky?
Gliding toward an unknown destination.
What are we but a cobblestone in this long journey?
Chasing a tomorrow that may never come.
What are we but a faint whisper in the everyday cacophony?
Always striving to make our voices heard.
What are we but a tiny piece in the jigsaw puzzle?
Seeking an answer to the universe's many mysteries.
What are we but a footnote to the chapter of life?
Living for everyone but ourselves.
What are we but a pawn in this grand game?
Not sure of the destiny that awaits us.
At the end of the day,
what are we?
