People have let me down

The moon rises in the sky 

I bite my nail beds 

And hug my knees

The milky dawn 

Draws a chariot of gold

Burning my tired eyes


Caitlin Mae Thomson is a poet, journalist, and Bristol graduate. Her poetry has been published both nationally and internationally in literary journals like Ta Voix and YARN; and creative arts magazines like Helicon and That’s What She Said. She will attend Trinity College Dublin in September, to study gender and women's history, and drink many pints of Guinness.
