Daisies by Daniel Birnbaum

She opens her bag

she finds an old picture

she did not know was there

memories pop up

like spring daisies

in a barren field

after the first rain

she replaces the picture

glad that the daisies

will not last the day

Daniel Birnbaum lives near Marseille, in France. He has written 25 books and has appeared in several journals and reviews including Chrysanthemum, Dragon Poet Review, Frogpond, Modern Haiku, One-Sentence Poems, Poetry Quarterly, Red Wolf Journal, Shot Glass Journal, Skylark, The Lake, and Three Line Poetry.
