Content with the Night by Craig Cruise

The hoot of an owl

Deep in the woods

I cherish the sound

It leaves me spellbound

I go for a walk

Deep in the woods

In the dark, I prowl

As I look for the owl

He sits in a tree

Deep in the woods

Afraid, he is not

Leaves me, in deep thought

Back on my porch

Content with the night

Eyes close to sleep

My dreams I will keep…
