A Yellow Ribbon by Kihyeon Lee
With a new spring all around upon us
Gently disturbing the cold slumber on Earth,
I found myself turning around a dark corner
Away from a crowded street, again a loner
Who hears himself a voiceless talker
To the one always catching up like a stalker,
Who paces himself as a restless walker,
But his own fate’s weary worker.
“Remember those winters you have lived through!
Forget not to grasp every moment through and through,
Making it each your life’s another break-through!”
Was a voice from the void I dreamed whispering through,
When I caught in passing a tiny ribbon
Worn on an old chest pretty and yellow
Like a total stranger saying “hello!”
For life against death to live on.
