The morning light
sweeps particles of shadow
over neglected corners
Outside my window, gathering birds
have returned to start their new day
But I remain settled in like dust;
a fallen feather
Richard D. Houff was the former editor of Heeltap Magazine and Pariah Press Books, from 1986 until 2010.
